Privacy Policy

Cubie is built to respect your privacy. This is a plain-language summary of exactly what we store, why we store it, and the control you have over it. We keep it short because Cubie genuinely collects very little.

What we store

Two things: your account (created by signing in with Google, through Firebase Authentication) and the content you create in the app — your habits, daily check-ins, progress, notes, and the settings you choose. That is all. Cubie does not track your location, your contacts, or anything you do outside the app.

How your data is used

Your data is used only to run Cubie for you: to show your habits and streaks, calculate your stats and achievements, deliver the reminders you turn on, and restore your data when you sign in on a new phone. We never sell your data, and we never share it with advertisers.

Where your data lives

Cubie is local-first: your habits and history are stored on your device, so the app is instant and works fully offline. A compact backup of your data is saved to your own private space on Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), so signing in after a reinstall or on a new phone restores everything. Your data is never visible to other users.

Google Drive backup (Cubie Pro)

Pro users can optionally back up their Cubie data to their own Google Drive. If you enable this, Cubie asks for the narrow drive.appdata permission, which only lets Cubie read and write its own hidden app-data file in your Drive — it cannot see, read, or change any of your other Drive files. The backup contains only your Cubie habits and check-ins, stays in your Drive under your control, and is deleted when you delete your account. You can also revoke Cubie's Drive access at any time from your Google Account's security settings.

Notifications and alarms

Reminders and nudges are generated on your device based on your own habits and the times you set. Habit reminders can ring as full-screen alarms at the exact times you choose — with your permission. The logic that decides when to remind you runs locally — your habit content is not sent anywhere to produce a notification.

Crash and usage reporting

In published builds, anonymous crash reports (via Firebase Crashlytics) and basic, non-personal usage analytics help us find and fix problems. These reports never contain the names, notes, or content of your habits.

Purchases

If you buy Cubie Pro, the payment is handled entirely by Google Play. Cubie never sees or stores your card or banking details — we only receive confirmation from Google Play that your purchase is active.

Your control over your data

You are always in charge. You can edit or delete any habit at any time — deleting a habit also removes its history. You can export a portable copy of all your data from Settings at any moment, and deleting your account permanently removes your data from our servers (and the Drive backup, if you enabled it). Signing out simply keeps your data safe with your account for next time.

Children

Cubie is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change how Cubie handles your data, we will update this page and the "last updated" date below. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
